Company flags are based on information from a universe of sources and warn of everything from ongoing lawsuits and downsizing to changes in financial statements, management, or ownership.
¶ Flag dates
Flags have a start date, when that state became true (based on available data), and an end date, when either that state ends, or it is so long ago it is no longer relevant.
The flag date is generally based on when information was available, not when the event actually occurred, so that if information is received that an event will happen in the past or in the future, the flag is set when the information about the event is received.
